CHRISTIAN SOLDIER SPIRITUAL ARMOR

Ephesians 6:10-14 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our  struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Romans 13:12. "The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light"

BELT OF TRUTH: (Truth)

Unbiased pursuit of the highest in excellence. While wearing the belt I am putting on Christ and the Holy Spirit to move me into divine paths. This first item compliments every piece of the Armor of God.

Ephesians 6:14 "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,"

John 8:32 "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

GOSPEL SHOES: (Readiness, Dominion and Peace) Foundation to be ready, stand bold, occupy ground, and take dominion in the spiritual pathway. My feet carrying the message of our Lord.

Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, Let's make mankind in our image, so that they may rule.."

Ephesians 6:15 "And, as shoes for your feet, put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace."

RIGHTEOUS BREASTPLATE: (Love, Faith, Righteousness, Commands) Wearing brings integrity to the seasoned soldier of God. It protects the heart of the forgiven and the forgiving man.

Exodus 28:15 "Fashion a breastplate for making decisions-"

1 Thessalonians 5:8 "But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate."

Psalm 119:172 "My tongue shall speak of your word, for all Your commandments are righteousness."

HELMET SALVATION: (Salvation)

Protects my mind so that I know who I am in Christ. And moves me from pride into humility.

1 Thessalonians 5:8 "... and as a helmet the hope of salvation ."

Isaiah 59:17 "He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak."

SHIELD OF FAITH: (Faith)

My physical and spiritual protection in the midst of my many trials. I know that God will deliver me from any battle into victory.

Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Ephesians. 6:16 "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."

SPIRITUAL SWORD: (Word)

The sword of God carried at the waist; the seasoned soldier has the strength to lift that powerful weapon

like the wings of eagles.

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

Isaiah 59:21 "My Spirit who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words which I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips,"

James 1:22 "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

The one concern of the Devil is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.

The Christian Soldier is to pray in all seasons and with all prayer. This is to be added to the armor before he goes into combat. For there are seasons of prosperity and adversity, lightness and darkness, victory and defeat. At all times he is to have the full armor of prayer. Be aware that the Christian’s armor will avail him nothing unless prayer is added. This holds it together and renders it effective. God’s true soldier plans his campaigns, arranges his battle forces, and conducts his conflicts with prayer. Prayer is all-important and absolutely essential to victory. The Christian soldier must always be fighting. He should, of sheer necessity, be always praying.
