VFW Post 2075 was honored with the Adopt-a-Unit "Best of the Best” award for its support of the California National Guard’s 1-160thInfantry Battalion during three of the unit’s events this year. Support can include providing equipment or resources and sometimes even Christmas trees to boost troop moral during the holiday season.
The 1-160th based out
of Inglewood has a long and storied history having first served in the Spanish
American War, World Wars 1 and 2, Korea and the unit was instrumental in
restoring order during the 1992 riots. The unit, dubbed "L.A.'s Own" was once again called up this summer to protect federal facilities in Downtown L.A. Hawthorne Post 2075 is proud to continue this
strong relationship and support the unit as if fulfills its various missions.
