Thanks to all post and Auxiliary members along with their
families and friends who participated in this year’s 4th of July
fireworks sale. As the largest fundraiser of the year for the post we are happy
to report sales exceeded last year. It was a very good year with many of the
largest fireworks sold out early on.
"It was a great turnout from our members and from the community and I want to thank everyone involved,” said Tim Ibarra, Post 2075 Commander. "The funds raised from this year’s sales will go a long way in supporting VFW programs to help veterans and for scholarships for our youth.”
The fireworks booth took on the atmosphere of a fun, family
gathering as post officers, Auxiliary and family took rotating shifts during
sales. After all the inventory was sold, the post children and family members
were treated to some fireworks in the post parking lot. From atop the hill,
everyone gathered had a nearly 360-degree view of Hawthorne as fireworks lit up
the sky. Congratulations to everyone on a job well done and we hope next year
will be bigger and better.
