Post 2075 Replaces Roof and Upgrades Air Conditioning System

Albert Rodriguez - 6/8/2025

Following leaks and slowly accumulating damage over the years from rain and weathering, Post 2075 underwent an extensive construction project in late 2024. Under the leadership of Post Commander Jan Blomsterberg, the roof was completely replaced, and the outdated air conditioning system was upgraded providing much needed respite from the summer heatwaves. The repairs have assured functionality, comfort and aesthetics of the post for years to come.

"With this important project we ensure that the post will continue to be a special place for Veterans to gather, build camaraderie, remember the fallen, and serve the community well into the future.”

 -Commander Jan Blomsterberg

The repair presented some level of complexity and careful coordination as the roofing work first required a separate HVAC company to disconnect the A/C unit and components. All of these had to be raised by a crane six inches to allow the roofers to perform their work, which included replacing some of the weatherworn plywood. Following the roofing work, the HVAC company then reset the units and reconnected the system. Upgrades to the A/C system included a new motor that regulates heat.

The project had a budget of $214,975, which was covered by a $235,127 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Funding was secured by the tireless efforts of Jr. Vice Commander and past Commander Roger Morrisey. There is still much to be done with repairs needed for interior ceilings, and the parking lot will also need to be repaved in the future.

Thanks to the collective efforts of all the members, Post 2075 will continue to shine from the Top of the Hill!
